Guerrero vs Aydin - A few days before his big showdown with Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, welterweight Selcuk Aydin has warned people not to be surprised when he beats the hometown favorite on Saturday night in San Jose, California. “Many see me as a longshot in the fight against Guerrero. I’ve read that it would be a big surprise if I should win on Saturday. But that’s only because people don’t know who I am and what I can do. I’m Selcuk Aydin. I’m the world champion. I’m certainly no underdog. And that I win on Saturday shouldn’t surprise anyone!” Aydin has complained several times in recent weeks that the American media doesn’t pay enough attention to him. “After Saturday, everyone will know who Selcuk Aydin is!” he stated.

Guerrero, Aydin public workout - Former three-division world champion Robert Guerrero and undefeated number one rated WBC welterweight contender Selcuk Aydin showed their skills on Tuesday at San Jose Boxing & Fitness during a public media workout in preparation for Saturday’s clash for the vacant WBC interim welterweight world championship at HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

Sherrington-Campas Presser - Les Sherrington and Yori Boy Campas came face to face at the final press conference today at Lauxes restaurant. Both camps are highly confident that they are going to take out the win and it has really set the scene for a great spectacle. With trainer and manager Joe Diaz stating that, “Yori Boy has had a hard training camp for this fight, we have taken it back to the ‘olden style’ by chopping wood and shovelling gravel, we have come to win.”

Kertson Manswell takes on Deontay Wilder - LOS ANGELES, July 24 - With Kelvin Price forced to withdraw from his August 4 fight with unbeaten Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder due to a rib injury, Trinidad and Tobago’s Kertson “Warrior” Manswell has answered the call to face the 2008 Olympic Bronze Medal winner in a heavyweight slugfest at the Mobile Civic Center Arena Expo Hall in Mobile, Alabama that will be televised live on FOX Sports Net and FOX Deportes.

Wilfredo Vazquez Jr vs Rafael Marquez Postponed - The August 4 fight between Wilfredo Vazquez Jr and Rafael Marquez has been postponed until October 6, with Marquez suffering an injury to his right hand in training camp. A press release sent out is confident that the fight will still take place, and even cites a similar situation back in 2010, when Marquez suffered a hand injury that postponed his fight with Juan Manuel Lopez for two months.

Robert Guerrero and Wife Battle Cancer - Former Three-Division World Champion Robert Guerrero speaks to members of the media prior to throwing out the first pitch at the Oakland A’s July 22, 2024 game against the New York Yankees in Oakland, California advance of his July 28, 2024 fight against undefeated number one rated WBC welterweight contender Selcuk Aydin for the WBC Interim Welterweight World Championship at HP Pavilion in San Jose, California which will be televised live on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing. - Showtime just release a video where it shows Robert Guerrero and his wife, Casey Guerrero, how they struggle and battle with cancer. Groves To Face Anderson On September 14th

British and Commonwealth Super-Middleweight Champion George Groves will headline the Wembley Arena on Friday 14th September.

But first the Hammersmith star is US bound when he takes on tough Mexican Francisco Sierra in San Jose, California, on Saturday 28th July in a ten round contest which can be seen live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546).

This will be Groves’ second appearance in the America, his first was against Alfredo Contreras in Las Vegas in July 2010 who he stopped in the sixth round.

Providing he comes through unscathed, he could then face fierce Scottish rival Kenny Anderson at Wembley Arena which is subject to purse offers for Groves’ British title.

September will be a bumper month on BoxNation that will also feature the mouthwatering clash between WBO World Lightweight Champion Ricky Burns and Kevin Mitchell.

Unbeaten Groves put on a sensational performance at the famous London boxing landmark last November when he halted former British champion Paul Smith in the second round.

He was scheduled to face Anderson in March but had to withdraw because of a back injury and then his WBO World title fight against Robert Stieglitz in May had to be cancelled after he suffered a broken nose in sparring.

Groves is now raring to make up for lost time with two great performances in the coming months.

“It’s been a frustrating time with injuries, but I’m through that now and I’m really looking forward to getting back into action,”

“I’m excited to return to America next week which is a great opportunity to expand my American fan base with a hot performance against Sierra who will give me a tough fight,”

“Then on my return, if it’s going to be Anderson, then I don’t need motivating to destroy him,”

“He’s been mouthing off ever since the fight was cancelled in March, I’ll have great pleasure in giving him another beating.”

The Wembley card will feature two further big title fights: Billy Joe Saunders’ first defence of his Commonwealth Middleweight Championship that he won in quick time at the Royal Albert Hall, and unbeaten prospect Bradley Skeete goes for the first title in his career when he takes on Chas Symonds for the Southern Area Welterweight title.

An action packed undercard featuring the best in London talent with super-middleweight Frank Buglioni continuing his meteoric rise in a four round contest as he looks to take his record to 6-0, plus light-welterweight Gary Corcoran and featherweight Mitchell Smith.

Tickets, priced at £40, £50, £75 and £100, are available from the Wembley Arena Box Office on 0844 815 0815 or online at www.wembleyarena.co.uk

The undefeated Nelson is the current Women’s International Boxing Association Middleweight Champion. Nelson will be fighting for the opportunity to become a THREE TIME WORLD CHAMPION. In an interesting situation, both Nelson and Perozzi both share a common opponent - Lorissa Rivas. Both ladies defeated Rivas by 10-round split decisions to win the WBC and WBA titles respectively.

Teresa Perozzi won the vacant World Boxing Association Title in December 30, 2011, against Lorrisa Rivas in Trinidad & Tabago. Tori won her first World Title against Lorrisa Rivas on July 29, 2011.
