  • Randall Bailey — 35-year-old American Randall Bailey (41-7, 36 KOs) will hold clash with Moroccan boxer Said Ouali (3.27, 19KO), on the 10th of December. The fight will take place in Belgium, where at the beginning of this year Bailey won his last victory, with a first round KO of Osea Bonsu. At stake will be vacant IBF Intercontinental title and the right to challenge IBF titlist Ian Zavekom.

  • Australian-based South African heavyweight Pieter Cronjie (10-4-1, 6 KOs) stopped Colin Wilson (35-26-1, 21 KOs) at the Mansfield Tavern, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Wilson suffered a knee injury and the referee called it off at 1:29 of round four. Cronjie previously defeated Wilson via six round points decision in 2007. Cronjie is now scheduled to meet Alex Leapai (20-3-3, 16 KOs) in a rematch on December 4 at the Gold Coast Convention Center, Broadbeach, Queensland.

  • Floyd Mayweather and Amir Khan — Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer reportedly has interest in putting together a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Amir Khan, should Khan get by a very real test against Marcos Maidana in December. “It’s in that same sense of putting big fights together,” Schaefer told BoxingScene.com in regards to the fight. “If you have Amir Khan who is going to clean up the 140-pound division and be the last man standing there. with his speed and power I can imagine this is a fight fans want to see.”

  • Ricky Hatton - has been discharged from hospital after being treated for depression and alcohol abuse. Hatton, who spent between 2/3 weeks in rehab was released this week, and even stopped in at a local pet shop on his way home to pick up a new dog. People in the shop said he was laughing and joking, and both he and fiancee Jennifer were smiling.

  • Four-time light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver (27-6, 19 KOs) of Tampa, Fla., will make his debut at heavyweight when he faces Nagy Aguilera (16-4, 11 KOs) of Newburgh, N.Y. by way of the Dominican Republic, in the 10-round main event tomorrow/Friday, Oct. 15, on ShoBox: The New Generation live on SHOWTIME® (11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast). In the co-feature at Buffalo Run Casino, unbeaten Shawn Porter (16-0, 12 KOs) of Cleveland, Ohio, will make his fourth appearance on ShoBox in 10 months when he drops down a notch in weight to take on Hector Munoz (18-3-1, 11 KOs) of Albuquerque, N.M., in a 10-round welterweight bout. - Tarver, 41, is making the move from the SHOWTIME broadcast booth back to the ring, where he hasn’t fought since May 2009. He is attempting to become only the third light heavyweight to win a world heavyweight title. The others were Michael Spinks, in 1985, and Roy Jones Jr., in 2003. - WEIGHTS: Tarver 221 pounds, Aguilera 232; Porter 146.4 pounds, Munoz 146.8.

  • Shumenov - Braehmer — According to BoxingScene.com a deal is very close to being finalized for a light heavyweight unification between WBA champion Beibut Shumenov (10-1, 6KOs) and WBO counterpart Juergen Braehmer (36-2, 29KOs). Both the WBO and the WBA have reportedly approved the fight to move forward. No exact details on the location, or date, have been disclosed. Shumenov’s promoter Dan Goossen was unavailable for comment.

  • Jean Pascal - Bernard Hopkins - Showtime Networks Inc. has announced the World Light Heavyweight Championship fight between future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins and young upstart WBC World Champion Jean Pascal will be televised live on SHOWTIME. The 12-round world championship bout, originally proposed as a pay-per-view event in the United States, will be held in Pascal’s home of Quebec, Canada—at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City—on Saturday, Dec. 18, and be televised live on SHOWTIME at 10 p.m. ET. The event is co-promoted by Group Yvon Michel Inc. and Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Casino Montreal and Quebec Tourism.

  • IBO Middleweight Champion “The Pride of Providence” Peter Manfredo Jr. returns to his roots November 12, headlining in a 10-round, non-title fight at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Manfredo (35-6, 19 KOs), who will fight Colombian Jhon Berrio (15-7, 11 KOs), hasn’t fought in his native Rhode Island in two years. The star of The Contender, Season I reality television series has a 16-1 (10 KOs) pro record in Rhode Island, including 3-0 (3 KOs) at Twin River.

  • Ishe Smith - Fargo, ND- light middleweight contender, Ishe Smith, will have an opportunity to stay active and put himself in position for a major bout in the 154 lb. division when he returns to the ring on November 5, at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. Smith will participate in the non-televised portion of Showtime Boxing’s first appearance in North Dakota, presented by Lou Dibella Entertainment. The televised portion of the card will be headlined by Edwin Rodriguez (16-0) taking on James “Buddy” McGirt Jr. (23-2-1), and Marcus Johnson taking on an opponent to be named. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, October 14th, 2010 at 11 a.m. and are available by calling the Scheels Arena box office or at ticketmaster.com.

  • Showtime Boxing’s first appearance in North Dakota will take place on November 5, at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. altJulio Cesar Chavez Jr. possibly fighting Manny Pacquiao next year — In a statement to Mexican news outlet Notimex, WBC silver middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. says a possible fight with Manny Pacquiao, in 2011, was the reason he ruled out a trip to the Philippines to spar with the Filipino fighter. Both Pacquiao and Chavez are trained by Freddie Roach and promoted by Top Rank. Chavez,

“I’m getting ready for my fight against Alfonso Gomez on December 4 in Anaheim, California. I was supposed to go to the Philippines and do sparring with Pacquiao, which is something very important for me, but at the same time, it has been said that Manny could be my opponent next year, and I think in helping him with sparring would be complicated,” said Chavez Jr.

  • Odlanier Solis vs Ray Austin — It’s official: unbeaten Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis will face tough veteran Ray Austin on December 17th in Miami, with the winner set to face WBC heavyweight king Vitali Klitschko some time next year. — Solis promoter Ahmet Oner announced the fight today, reports Fightnews.com, and the WBC final eliminator is, in his opinion, a fight the Miami-based Cuban will win in commanding style.

  • Bute-Brinkley Presser — IBF super middleweight world champion Lucian Bute (26-0, 21 KOs) faced off with mandatory challenger Jesse Brinkley (35-5-5, 22 KOs) at a news conference Wednesday in Montreal for their world title clash on Friday at the Bell Centre. “I’m ready,” vowed the unbeaten champion. “We spent six weeks in Florida to train. I’m prepared. I took it seriously and it will be quite a show.” Brinkley warned Bute not to count him out. “It doesn’t bother me that people think I’m the underdog,” said Brinkley. “Lucian has his hands full with me.”

  • Maritime Heavyweight Championship — On October 16, heavyweights Emile Arsenault (2-0-0) of Shediac, NB, and Julien Colette (4-1-0) of Bouctouche, NB, come together for New Generation Productions’ vacant Maritime heavyweight championship at Louis-J-Roubichaud high school in Shediac, New Brunswick. Despite being a ‘title’ fight, the contest is only scheduled for six rounds. New Generation’s cruiserweight Maritime title will also be on the line, as defending champion Guy Desforges (3-2-0) of Dalhousie, NB, takes on undefeated challenger Chris Norrad (5-0-0) of Boisetown, NB, in another six round affair.

  • Vitali Klitschko looks really slow in media workout By Dave Lahr: WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (40-2, 38 KO’s) looked as slow as molasses in the media workout today in Frankfurt, Germany. Klitschko, 39, danced around the ring, with music playing and tons of reporters snapped photos and took video of it. But Klitschko’s foot movement and hand speed were totally missing. Vitali honestly looked like he was punching in slow motion as he flicked out painfully slow arm punches. That’s pretty much all Vitali threw was arm punches as he danced to the music and frolicked around. He threw punches for awhile at his trainer while was holding puncher’s mitts, but it was still mostly arm punches that Vitali was throwing. (Source Boxingnews24).

  • Tarver vs. Aguilera on Friday: light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver (27-6, 19 KO’s) begins Friday what he’s hopes will lead to a big money title shot against the world champion Klitschko brothers when he takes on Nagy Aguilera (16-4, 11 KO’s) at the Buffalo Run Casino, in Miami, Oklahoma. Tarver will be turning 42 on November 21st, and yet he hopes to get a world title shot if he can beat two or three heavyweights to prove himself.

  • James DeGale vs. Paul Smith on December 11th — 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist James DeGale (8-0, 6 KO’s) will be taking a slight step up in competition on December 11th against British super middleweight champion Paul Smith (29-1, 15 KO’s) in a bout at the Echo Arena, in Liverpool, according to The Mirror.

Roy Jones Jr. vs. Danny Santiago – Postponed

altSquare Ring Promotions announced today that it was postponing the Roy Jones, Jr. vs. Danny Santiago Boxing event scheduled for October 7 due to a hand injury suffered by Roy Jones, Jr.

John Wirt, CEO of Square Ring Promotions, said “Roy’s manager, McGee Wright, informed me today that Roy injured his left hand while sparring on Saturday and that on Monday, he went to the doctor and X-rays were taken. While the X-rays do not show a fracture, his hand is swollen and continues to bother him to such an extent that we have no choice but to postpone the fight. At this point, we are planning on rescheduling the fight and will make an announcement regarding the new date as soon as possible.”

  • James Kirkland - November? According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, unbeaten junior middleweight contender James Kirkland still has a chance of returning to action in the month of November. Kirkland, imprisoned since April 2009 after pleading guilty to a charge of gun possession by a convicted felon, could be released from prison as early as this week, put in into a halfway house and potentially placed on a Golden Boy co-promoted card on November 6 in Newark, New Jersey.

  • “The Future” Hatley (Result 25 Sept) — Welterweight Charles “The Future” Hatley (14-0 11KO) escaped with a hard fought eight round unanimous decision at Quik Trip Park in Grand Prairie, Texas over the veteran Emanuel Augustus (38-33 6KO), which saw both fighters hit the canvas in this action packed affair. Hatley, a former U.S. Amateur and 2008 Olympic Trials Finalist, has been fighting in relative anonymity against inferior opponents to date but with a victory over Augustus, who has been in the ring with the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Mickey Ward, could be his coming out party. Antonio Gomez (5-3-1 1KO) beat former Texas kick boxing champion Calvin Pitts (5-13-1 1KO) in a hard fought majority decision by a score of 58-57, 57-57 and 58-56.

Light heavyweight Greg Hatley (2-1), the brother of the more glorified Charles Hatley, made quick work of the outmatched and previously undefeated Jermaine Rankin (2-1).

  • Manny Pacquiao update — Alex Ariza, the strength and conditioning coach for Manny Pacquiao, plans on having Pacquiao add swimming to his training regimen, according to Ronnie Nathanielsz at www.inquirer.net. Ariza says “I believe there is no better conditioning plan than to hit the pool.” Well, I hope they have a good lifeguard on the scene at all times, because Pacquiao looked like he was floundering in the water like a little sinking ship in his swimming scenes from the HBO Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 series.

  • Ward Vs Dirrell — Americans Andre Ward (22-0, 13 KO’s) and Andre Dirrell (19-1, 13 KO’s) will be fighting for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight title that previously belonged to Mikkel Kessler on November 27th in their stage 3 Super Six tournament bout at a still to be determined venue. The WBC title was recently won by Kessler in his 12 round unanimous decision win over Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) in April.

  • Kennedy stops Becerra in 10 (Result 25 Sept) Teon “The Technician” Kennedy (16-0-1, 7 KOs), of Philadelphia, PA added the vacant NABA super bantamweight belt to his growing collection after he forced Alex “El Diablo” Becerra (20-9, 9 KOs), of El Paso, TX to remain on his stool after ten one-sided rounds last night at Ballys Atlantic City. In the co-feature, Dennis “The Assassin” Hasson (11-0, 3 KOs) took an eight round unanimous decision over fellow Philadelphian Tommie “Big Poppa” Speller (5-5, 3 KOs) in an all-Philadelphia super middleweight rumble. Peltz Boxing Promotions promoted the card.

  • Kassim stops Gilbert (Result 25 Sept) — Kassim Ouma (27-7, 17 KOs) stopped Joey Gilbert (20-3, 15 KOs) in the sixth round of their scheduled ten-round bout for the NABA middleweight title. It was a back and forth brawl that saw Ouma’s glove touch the canvas in the fifth round after a straight right hand from Gilbert caught him off balance. Ouma however fought back and in the sixth round, a flurry of punches, punctuated by a right uppercut put Gilbert down. Gilbert got to his feet but did not want to continue and the fight was waved off.
  • Miguel Cotto, the welterweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) will be one of the main guests who will attend the KO Drugs Festival that is organized by the WBA, along with their partners, on Saturday October 2 at the arena Roberto Duran of Panama City, Panama.

The announcement was made by Venezuelan Gilberto Mendoza Jr., Executive Vice President of the WBA, during a Sunday visit to Managua, Nicaragua, to finalize details of the 89th Annual Convent.

  • BROOKLYN, NY – Boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya, the president of Golden Boy Promotions, will lead a boxing clinic for local amateur teenage boxers from USA Boxing Metro at the famed Gleason’s Gym at 77 Front Street in Brooklyn on Tuesday, September 28 at 4:00 p.m.

The clinic will be presented by Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the sales and marketing arm of the Barclays Center, and Golden Boy Promotions, the world’s leading boxing promoter, which announced in July that they were teaming to bring the best of major professional boxing back to Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.

  • John Nolasco is set to take on Andy Murray — The green light was finally given for the fight between European lightweight champion Andy Murray (21-0, 12 KOs) and his dangerous Dominican rival John Nolasco (18-4-4, 8 KOs). Indeed, the Irish Embassy in Washington DC finally gave Nolasco the visa to travel to Ireland where he will clash with Murray in Letterkeny on October 2nd after over three weeks of uncertainty. Nolasco is excited by the fact that Murray who has never fought a Latin boxer. “This will be a fight between a man and a boy,” said the 34-year-old Dominican, “the man is me and I’m going to give the boy – Murray – a good spanking. His record is pretty enough but he has never faced the kind of opposition I have faced.”

  • Saul “Canelo” Alvarez going up & “Sugar” Shane Mosley on his way out says Sulaiman. — After Mosley’s two recent performances, against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sergio Mora, WBC President Jose Sulaiman thinks the former three division champion is on his way out, and Alvarez is starting to become a force. Both Alvarez and Mosley are promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Within two or three fights, Sulaiman said Alvarez will be ready for a major title shot.

“Mosley is on his way out, and ‘Canelo’ is coming in. But ‘Canelo’ is still two or three fights away before he’s ready to fight for a world title,” Sulaiman said.

  • Amir Khan on Ricky Hatton – Decision of the “British Boxing Board of Control” too harsh. — During a Thursday hearing, the BBBoC stripped Hatton of his license to box and his license as a boxing manager.

The BBBoC allowed him to keep his license as a promoter. Hatton runs regular shows in the UK with his Hatton Promotions company. Hatton was punished for the recent video which showed him snorting several lines of cocaine. The Manchester fighter has since entered a rehab to clean up his life.

Khan speaking to ESPN UK.said ”I bet there are footballers and cricketers who have done the same silly things, made the same mistakes as Ricky but they are still playing their sports,” - “It all seems very harsh and it makes the situation around Ricky look 100 times worse than it is. It’s a real shame what happened and I am 100 percent behind him.”

“He knows he has done wrong, the likes of Ricky and Joe Calzaghe know they have done wrong. After a few drinks we might all do stupid things” said Khan.

  • Julio Cesar Chavez Jr could face winner of the Sergio Martinez-Paul Williams fight. — WBC President Jose Sulaiman has stated that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. could easily get the opportunity for a mandatory shot at the winner of the Sergio Martinez-Paul Williams rematch, which takes place on November 20 in Atlantic City. Chavez is the WBC’s silver champion at the weight. He defends that interim-type title on December 4 against Alfonso Gomez.

Champion Haye to hold bookazine signings in Manchester and Birmingham — WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye will touch down in Manchester and Birmingham this Saturday (September 25) to further publicise volume one of his official Hayemaker bookazine. The boxer will be on hand in Selfridges in Manchester at mid-day (12 pm) and will then travel to Selfridges in Birmingham for a 5pm signing in the Midlands.

  • Shannon Briggs: David Haye Will Be My Next Victim! — The latest from Golzka, heavyweight Shannon Briggs has sent a message to WBA champion David Haye of England. Briggs will challenge WBC champion Vitali Klitschko on October 16 in Germany. He took offense to a recent video that was created by the British fighter, where he ridiculed Briggs’ medical condition. Briggs wants to make him pay for the insult.

“In his latest wacky video, Haye called me Shannon ‘Give Me Cartridges For Asthma’ Briggs. But this isn’t only an insult to me, but to everyone in the world who is suffering from this disease. Miguel Cotto / “Boxeo Boricua in Salinas” — Promoter and world champ Miguel Cotto, together with Héctor Soto, announced their famous Puerto Rican series, “Boxeo Boricua in Salinas” coming up this Saturday, September 25 at the Angel “Cholo” Espada Coliseum in Salinas today. The heavyweight contender, Victor Bisbal (17-1, 12 KOs) will fight Brock Stodden (18-16-1, 9 KOs) while junior lightweight sensation Marcos “El Tigre” Jiménez (16-2, 10 KOs) will make his come back fight against veteran warrior Robert Daluz (13-30-3, 9 KOs). When it was announced who the opponent would be - Haiti’s Daniel Edouard - the fans booed. No real disrespect was aimed at “The Haitian Sensation,” it was just that a more visible name was what the fans wanted to see “The Ghost” going up against in his first fight back since that tough loss to Sergio Martinez.

Well, as ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael reported a few days back, Edouard is now out for Nov.13th and Team-Pavlik are looking for a replacement. Today, via his Twitter page on ESPN.com, Rafael has reported how tough, durable and world class Giovanni Lorenzo is the fighter Pavlik’s gang have contacted about the date going free in November. According to ESPN.com, the fight will be for Martinez’ world middleweight title, but the two fighters have agreed to meet at a catch-weight of 157-pounds.

Adam Booth for Hayemaker Boxing made the counter-offer to promoter Frank Warren this morning (Tuesday) at 11.08 a.m, and insists the purse involved was substantially more than the one received from Warren on Monday afternoon.

  • Miguel Vazquez — According to BoxingScene Miguel Vazquez’s (26-3) first IBF lightweight title defense may come against Philadelphia’s “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy (19-1).

Vazquez won the vacant title when he defeated Ji-Hoon Kim via unanimous decision in Laredo, Texas in August.

Lundy suffered his first pro defeat when he lost via TKO to John Molina in July. Lundy bounced back in a big way by routing Omri Lowther 6 weeks later. He accepted the fight with less than a week’s notice and won 100-90 on two scorecard and 98-92 on the other scorecard.

  • Golden Boy Promotions — On Tuesday, Golden Boy Promotions filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Nevada against Top Rank Promotions, Top Rank CEO, Bob Arum, and Top Rank CFO David Lopez, accusing the duo of racketeering and fraud and seeking damages in the range of $3 to $5 million plus attorneys fees related to money generated from three Manny Pacquiao fights.

In accordance with a settlement between the two companies in 2007, Golden Boy owns a percentage of Pacquiao’s promotional contract. In the legal papers, Golden Boy claims their company is owed millions of dollars from Pacquiao’s 2008 lightweight title bout against David Diaz, his 2009 welterweight title bout against Miguel Cotto and his March welterweight title defense against Joshua Clottey. Golden Boy claims further, that Top Rank has often failed to report revenue from Pacquiao’s fights and falsely inflated expenses to avoid paying their company the agreed upon percentage from their 2007 settlement.

  • Nazareno dethrones Manfa — PABA#3 super light Dan Nazareno Jr. (14-4,10 KOs) celebrated his 21st birthday with his surprise victory over Manfa Looksaikongdin (16-8,11 KOs) to capture the PABA super lightweight title on Monday 19 September at Countryhome Village in Pak-hai, Ayutthaya, Thailand. The new champion made a good start as he floored the Thai fighter with a right straight in the opening round. The game turned to Manfa from round three when he landed vicious bodyshots which almost dropped the Filipino many times in rounds four and five. But the action was unexpectedly finished in round six as Nazareno surprisingly attacked the Thai fighter, dropping his foe with a vicious left hook and then displaying one-side assault to destroy the now former champion at the early of round six.

Promoter Frank Warren gave George Groves, 48 hours to accept a fight with James DeGale. Groves has repeatedly called out the Londoner in the media. And now he has the opportunity to get the fight he claims he wants, after Warren sent Hayemaker Promotions a written offer at 1pm on Tuesday offering Groves the fight on December 11. “I have written to Groves formally offering him a fight against DeGale,” said Warren, who is assembling a blockbuster show to celebrate his 30th year as a promoter. “He will not got better money elsewhere. “It’s the fight he keeps saying he wants; now we will find out whether he is man enough to back up his word.

Sonoran, Hernan “Tyson” — An experienced fighter from Sinaloa, Valentin “Picoco” Leon will be the opponent for the sensational knockout artist from Sonoran, Hernan “Tyson” Marquez, in the main event of the card called “Battles of the Bicentennial” to be held at the Center for Multiple Use (CMU) on September 24. The fight between Marquez (27-2, 21 KOs) and Leon (23-20-3, 17 KOs) will be for ten rounds at flyweight and will be broadcast on Azteca America to the United States and the event is organized by Zanfer and Rama Promotions.

In the interview, Bradley said that Devon Alexander should already be training in the gym to get ready for their proposed January 29th showdown and that he is going to put a beating on Alexander. “Bradley should be signing contracts instead of doing interviews saying he is going to whoop me. Bradley is just using his promoter as an excuse to duck me again. Why do interviews talking junk when you won’t sign a contract to make the fight? I have done everything on my side possible to make this fight happen and he’s done nothing to make this fight happen except make excuses.” Devon said to Boxing Scene.

  • Three-time world champion Antonio Margarito is running up the mountains in San Bernardino, Ca. in his first phase of training for the mega fight against Manny Pacquiao on November 13.

“Margarito goes straight up – no trails – he runs through brambles and bushes,” said chief trainer Robert Garcia today. Garcia said he drives Margarito to Mount Baldy, elevation 4,193 feet, in San Bernardino County.

“We need strong legs to beat Pacquio,” Garcia said. ”Antonio runs up the mountain for a hour, returns and then we’re off right away to the El Monte Gym which is nearby. There, Antonio goes into a hard workout – mitts, then heavy bag, jump rope, speed bag, It’s a long, hard workout. No sparring – at least, not yet.”

Garcia said Margarito will break camp at the El Monte Gym at the end of this week and then begin phase two of training in Oxnard, Calif.

“Margarito will spar for six weeks beginning next week,” said Garcia. “This is our game plan and we are right on schedule.”

Pacquiao vs. Margarito on November 13 is promoted by Top Rank in association with MP Promotions and Cowboys Stadium. Pacquiao vs. Margarito will be available on HBO Pay Per View.

Mexican Celebrations - As part of the month long celebration to commemorate Mexico’s bicentennial, Zanfer Promotions will present an explosive seven fight night at the legendary El Foro Theatre in downtown Tijuana, Mex, on Saturday, September 25th, and televised nationally in Mexico by the Azteca channel. In the main event, Ramon Garcia Hirales (13-1-1, 8KOs) will defend his WBO interim jr, flyweight title against the much more experienced Manuel “Chango” Vargas (28-5-1, 13KOs) in a twelve round event.

  • Timothy Bradley — According to Boxing Scene, contrary to published reports, promoter Gary Shaw has denied that a breakthrough has been reached in his ongoing negotiations to finalize a deal with Timothy Bradley for a junior welterweight unification with Devon Alexander. The fight is scheduled for January 29 on HBO.

Shaw also denies that a contract extension is holding up the fight from being finalized. Bradley’s promotional contract, with Shaw, reportedly expires in May. Sources close to the Bradley camp have claimed Shaw is requesting a contract extension in order to finalize an agreement for the Alexander fight.

“I read the story on the breaking news. I don’t understand or know what the news is. The reporter did not interview me. It as a one-sided story. And I’d like to put the story to rest once and for all,” said Shaw.

  • Vivian Harris — According to BoxingScene, Vivian Harris’s purse for Saturday’s bout with Victor Ortiz was withheld due a court order issued in the state of California. Apparently Harris owes close to $100,000 to his former promoter Main Events. Pursuant to the order, a levy was placed on Harris’ purse to partially-satisfy the outstanding debt. Harris reportedly made $50,000 for the fight. Ortiz dropped Harris four times before the bout was waved off in the third round.

  • Post fight press conference — Sergio “Latin Snake” Mora (22-1-2, 6 KOs) was extremely animated as he explained what happened during the twelve rounds he went with “Sugar” Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KOs) in the main event of “200: Celebrate & Dominate” presented by Golden Boy Promotions. The bout was ruled a draw.

“I have a lot of respect for Mosley, he is strong, fast and smart inside the ring,” Mora stated visibly showing the effects of the bout with a bruised cheek and scrapes. “I thought I won the fight but I’m not going to cry robbery. I forgot where I was fighting, the Mexicans want to see a fight and not defense”

“When I fought Forrest, I didn’t like him, he talked a lot trash,” Mora explained. “Shane is such a nice guy. I respect Mosley. I had a game plan but it wasn’t enough, I think I won the fight.”

“He stunned me a couple of times so I had to respect his power,” Mora continued. “I think I was winning the fight but I should have listened to my corner a little bit more.”

“Sugar” Shane Mosley, explained - “I fought my heart out. I get down on myself when I don’t get the knockout but I tried,” the affable Mosley said. “I did what I do but I got the draw, what can you do? I thought I beat him by a couple of rounds.”

“That’s what happens when you don’t get the knockout, you get these decisions,” Mosley added.
