Marc James OIC at Malta International Club Event
What is an OIC?
An OIC is ‘Official in Charge’. It is the OIC who ensures the smooth running of the boxing competition.
Marc James is one of the founding members of the MBF also a member of the ABAE and organises boxing in the Welsh Guards.
Thank you Marc for a job well done in Malta, notwithstanding the difficulties you encountered you got the Job done.
Bomb scare at competition venue
It seems that there are people in our little Island who are not happy with the advances of the MBF.
This became evident with a bomb scare during the first day of competition on the 20th of November. This cowardly act did not achieve its aim with most of the spectators waiting patiently outside the building until it was declared clear and the show continued as planned.
Special thanks to the Maltese and English boxers who showed true sportsmanship and although having had to stand outside in damp and cold conditions came back in the venue and did not disappoint the public.
Well done to all the boxing athletics from both nations who did not allow this cowardly act to deter them from competing in true Olympic Sprit.
