The MBF has produced a new TV Advert for its Malta Vs England Club boxing challenge.

Malta has positive results at Crawley International Boxing Show in England.
Last night the 30Th of November 2009 was a good day for the Maltese clubs taking part in the prestigious Crawley International boxing show.

Lords Gym Malta
Lords Gym, Park Towers, St Julian’s, Malta.
The Lords Gym is at the moment the only full time boxing gym in the Maltese Islands.
Run by Steven Abela the gym’s motto is ‘Fitness through Boxing’
The Lords gym is also home to the St Julian’s & Sliema Boxing Clubs, both of these clubs will be participating in the Malta Vs UK Club Boxing Challenge on the 20 & 21 November 2009. The Lords Gym offers a unique mix of fit boxing and competitive boxing. The Lords Gym Malta is a boxing club that caters for everyone, at this gym people of all ages men, women and children may enjoy the art of boxing in a family environment.

Ludvic Paul Muscat is one of the most outstanding boxers to come out of Malta. he is at the moment Coach of ”The Game Boxing Club” who are preparing for the Malta Vs Uk boxing competition to be held on the 20 & 21 of November 2009

starting boxing at the age 13 under the guidance of Vince Bongalais, the former Maltese super welter weight champion
at the Euro-club hotel.
His first boxing match was on November 1994 at DeLa Salle College Cottonera against Haitem Taihat of Tunesia
Best fight ever was back in 2007 against Scotsman ‘Super SCOTT DIXON’ at the ta Qali Pavilion Malta, In front of a record crowd of 3000 spectators, although Ludvic lost this encounter it was very close just one point over eight rounds. Super SCOTT DIXON was the former WBB world welter weight champion.
In one of the hardest fights of his career was with GARETH SPURS the British EBF champion, at the time Garth record was9 ko in 9 fights and 8 of them where in the firstround, Ludvic knocked him out in the fourth round and gave him his first defeat on record.
Ludvic recently became WKN WORLD CHAMPION when he defeated KOSTAS POURSANIDES of Cyprus.
Ludvic’s record is 6 wins 2losses 1draw….all wins coming by way of K.O

Meet Julian Borg of the Lions ABC
Julian Borg who is of Maltese origin hails for London England. An accomplished boxer, boxing coach and organizer.
Julian who is also expected to be appointed to the committee of the Malta Boxing Federation this November, started boxing at the age of 13 and during his carrier achieved many boxing honors in the UK.
However Julian’s love for boxing continued after he finished from competitive boxing and he is now coaching with Steve Walters at the Lions club in London. Julian has now started to expand his horizons in boxing and in fact is the main man in England behind the visit to Malta of four UK boxing clubs to take part in a international club boxing competition against a Malta club select which is to be held in Malta on the 20 & 21 of November 2009 at De La Salle College Cottonera Malta.

UK Brentwood Amateur Boxing Club
Brentwood Boxing Club will be taking part in the Club International Boxing Tournament to be held on the 20 & 21 of November at De La Salle College, Sport Complex.
The Brentwood team will consist of Seniors :Mickey Hansell 60 KG, Luke Joyner 64 KG, Bradey Cohen 70 KG, Yuri Pesoeski, Mike Evans Smith 80 KG. Jnr Division: John O Sullivan 51 KG, Jack Harrison 33 KG, Jack Scotchbrook 60 KG, matthew Price 53 KG. The team will be led by Coaches Joe taylor & Alan Bush. Brentwood along with three other UK will be taking on a Malta select boxing team composed of Boxers from St Julians Boxing Club, Sliema Boxing Club, The Ring ABC, The Game ABC and Ying Yang Amateur Boxing Club.
This Boxing will be the largest boxing tournament ever organasied in the Maltese Islands. The combined UK teams alone will consists of not less than 20 boxers.
All judges and referee’s in this tournament will come from England & Wales.

What is the MBO?
Also know as the “Malta Boxing Organisation” This boxing group is neither affiliated nor recognized by the Malta Boxing Federation or any organization connected to Olympic Boxing. All claims by this group of any sort of connection to AIBA boxing is false and misleading.
It is an unfortunate fact that most boxing fans in Malta cannot comprehend the difference between ‘Olympic Boxing’ and non ‘Olympic Boxing’, such as that organised by the MBO.
The Malta Boxing Federation is open to all boxing clubs and boxing organisations who abide by the AIBA rules and adopt without reservations article 4 of the AIBA statutes. For the rest of this article click below

The Malta Boxing Federation has launched a publicity campaign for its Malta Club Select VS England Club Select, November 20 & 21 Club International Tournament to be held over two nights at the De La Salle College sport complex.
As part of this campagine a TV advert has been released.

Marc James Tournament Manager
The Malta Boxing Federation announces that Mr. Marc James of the Welsh Guards has been appointed as tournament manager for the 20 & 21 November club select international to be held at De La Salle College Cottonera Malta.

ABAE & ARMY Coach and Official
Born in Margate in Kent then moved with his father to Malta in 1985. After trying a few different sports he started boxing in 1994 at the age of 13. At the time he was the only junior boxer on the island; therefore bouts had to be fought with boxers older and heavier. In 2001 Mr. James moved to the United Kingdom to follow a career in the Army and registered with Scarborough ABC. Joined The Army, the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards in 2002 where in 2004 took on the role of Support Company Assistant Coach and after spending a short phase boxing in the Army, in 2006 he was appointed as the Battalions Head Coach and tasked to organise a boxing competition in BLMF in Bosnia. In 2008 he was awarded a commendation by Major General S Roberts MBE, (Army Senior Executive) Officer Commanding London District for his efforts in Amateur boxing. He has since then completed a Judge and Timekeepers Courses and has judged at a number of Events. He is also a member of a number of UK Sporting Bodies.
