UFC 148 Results: SILVA VS SONNEN 2
The Ultimate Fighting Championship presented UFC 148: Silva vs Sonnen II on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This epic rematch, billed by the UFC as its biggest fight of all time, started off in a similar vein to the first fight. Six seconds into the fight, Chael Sonnen had Anderson Silva on his back, and he kept him there for the entire round. In the second round, with both fighters up against the cage, Sonnen attempted a spinning backfist that caused him to stumble to the ground from his own momentum. Silva moved in with a ha knee to the body that landed clean as Sonnen was still on the ground with his back up against the cage. Silva continued throwing punches until Sonnen was covering up on the ground and the fight was stopped.

Chavez Jr. Ready For Zbik
Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (42-0-1) is all ready for his fight this Saturday, June 4, against Sebatian Zbik (30-0-0) for the World Boxing Council Middleweight Championship at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, which will be televised on ‘HBO Live Boxing After Dark’.
“I am ready to fight the best out there and one of them is Sebatian Zbik,” says Chavez, Jr. I am ready to be the champion this Saturday.”
Both Freddie Roach, his trainer, and Alex Ariza, his conditioning coach, believe Chavez, Jr. has what it takes to be a champion.
“The son of the legend (refering to Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.) is prepared. He has worked very hard to get ready,” said Roach.
“Look at him! He keeps moving and really working hard for this fight, at 25, he has a very bright future; it’s all up to him to become a champion,” said Ariza
Meanwhile, Zbik, 29, who flew in Los Angeles weeks earlier from Germany to prepare for his world title defense against Chavez, Jr, said:
“I am here to defend my title. I know Chavez, Jr. is a strong fighter. But, I am the champion and stronger and I am quicker than him, too.”
Both fighters are orthodox. But, Chavez, Jr., at 6 feet, has half an inch height advantage and a slightly longer reach than Zbik.
