The Carpenter Hall Stadium in Paris on Saturday 7th of May 2011 will be the venue for the finals of the pro-French championships. Hichem Abdel and Chafay Abderrahim from Team Zeitoun have both reached the finals, a grueling task which is spread out over several weeks of competition.
Andre “Maltese Blood” Zeitoun the famous Muaythai coach, who is of Maltese descent in a telephone interview with Malta Boxing News, said: “These championships for professional fighters are very important; the winners are selected to form part of the French national team.”

Asked about the Zeitoun Club and Team Zeitoun in Paris Andre said: “The club is of course a full time commercial operation with group training and one on one sessions scheduled through out the day. Team Zeitoun is our competition team for professional fighters. The Zeitoun team does not take fighters from other teams or clubs, all team members (Team Zeitoun) have been training with my club since the very beginning of their introduction to thai boxing.”
About his next visit to the Maltese Islands Andre said: “I wish I could be there more often, unfortunately this is not always possible. However I plan to be in Malta twice in early summer to attend and officiate at local competitions.”
Andre is very proud of his Maltese ancestry: “I am so proud of my Maltese origins and the support I have in Malta. Thank you,” said Andre.
