- A Minute’s Silence in Tribute to the Passing of Sir Henry Cooper - By James Slater: The late, great Sir Henry Cooper, who passed away at the age 76 on Sunday, never boxed under the bright lights of Las Vegas. However, “Our Enery” definitely made his mark on the global stage and, in a fitting tribute that has been arranged by promoter Bob Arum, fans inside the beautiful MGM Grand Arena will this Saturday remain silent for a minute as Cooper is remembered.
- Pac-Man Arrives In Las Vegas - Superstar Manny Pacquiao made his arrival in Las Vegas late last night, and is reportedly settled into his luxury suit at The Mandalay Bay. In great condition as always, Pac-Man will be met by trainer Freddie Roach soon. Judges are Berit Andreasen of Denmark, Steve Epstein from Connecticut and Marcus McDonell from London, England.

- Collins vs DeGado - Junior middleweight boxer Keenan Collins of Reading, PA is set to make big waves in his hometown on May 21 when he headlines King’s Promotions “Fight For Hope” boxing event at the Sovereign Center. The heavy-handed Collins, who has a record of 12-5-2 (8 KO), will face Allentown, PA’s Jorge Delgado (4-9, 2 KO) in a six-round bout with crosstown bragging rights at stake. Collins’ matchup was elevated to main event status after local heavyweight star Travis Kauffman withdrew from the card with a shoulder injury. “It’s good to be back at home,” said Collins, who is making his fourth appearance at the venue. “I get to show my people what I love to do, and that’s box. My kids can see the reason why Daddy wakes up in the morning and does his running.”

Vazquez Jr. Vs Hernandez
The fight nearly started early during today’s Wilfredo Vazquez Jr-Ivan “Choko” Hernandez press conference in Kissimmee, Florida. The fighters had to be separated during the face off for photographers and tempers are running hot for Saturday’s PPV showdown.
Vazquez felt strongly that there was a lack of respect to him and Mexican fighters.
Promoter Tuto Zabala Jr. explains what happened and about the bad blood that has developed between the two fighters.
The Ring’s No. 8 rated Vazquez (19-0-1, 16 KOs), the first Puerto Rican world champion who is the son of former world champion (Wilfredo Vazquez, Sr.), takes on former WBC title-holder Ivan “Choko” Hernandez (27-4-1, 17 KOs), fighting out of Mexico, in the 12-round main event.
The 25-year-old Vazquez captured the WBO 122-pound division crown this past February, stopping Marvin Sonsona (14-0-1) in the fourth round, followed last May by a 10th-round TKO win against No. 1 contender Zsolt Bedak (15-0) in Wilfredo’s first title defense. Kissimmee is a second home for Vazquez, who lives in Bayamon, Puerto Rico but has won 13 fights, 11 by knockout, in the Florida town.
Hernandez captured the WBO super flyweight crown in 2004 when he knocked out Mark Johnson in the 12 round. Against Vazquez, Ivan hopes that the third time is the charm for him in 122-pound world title fights, having lost two WBC super bantamweight showdowns to another Vazquez, the great Israel, in 2006 as well as last October to Toshiaki Nishioka.
