Steve Bunce has pulled together a bumper collection of boxing luminaries for this Thursday’s BBC London Boxing Hour - 8-9pm Thursday 17th March 2011 on BBC London 94.9, also available on DAB and BBC iPlayer.

The man himself took a little time out of his busy schedule to talk about this Thursday’s show, “This is a classic BBC London 94.9 Boxing Hour. A rich mix of the known, the lost, the new, the big, the bad, the crazy, the hopeless. A terrific mix.

I’ve got Pat McAleese and Michael Grant - they are often overlooked.

Eddie Hearn will be on to talk about the latest Prizefighter.

Joe Ainscough will be on to talk about his return to the ring - his amazing return to the ring.

I’m hoping to get Billy Graham on live to talk about his return to the gym and the corner.

James DeGale will answer questions about his next fight and his bitter rival in a pre-recorded interview from his old amateur club, Dale Youth.

Brian Magee will take my call from his Canadian hotel room just days before his world title fight.

There’s two shows this weekend and both are sponsored by Revolver Entertainment’s new to DVD Fists of Rage movie. Spencer ‘Paddy Boy’ Fearon will be on to talk about one of them - his York Hall show on Friday.

There will also be your texts, emails and calls.

There is every chance that they will all let me down! Just kidding.”

Steve Bunce: BBC London Boxing Hour

By Rio

London - Wednesday, 16th February 2011

Steve Bunce ‘The Definitive Voice of British Boxing’

Colin Lynes, Luke Campbell And Many More On Steve Bunce’s Show This Thursday.

Come back kid, former IBO Light Welterweight World Champion, Colin Lynes and European Gold Medalist Luke Campbell join a host of stars on this coming Thursday’s edition of The Steve Bunce Boxing Hour - BBC Radio London 94.9 between 8-9pm on Thursday 17th February 2011.

On Saturday Colin made his long awaited return to the ring, against Bradley Pryce, on the undercard of the excellent John Watson-Anthony Crolla vacant British Lightweight title clash.

Clearly the underdog, not only was this his first fight in the Welterweight division but Bradley was championship ready having prepared to challenge Sam Webb for his British Light Middleweight belt until the fight was called off, surprised most observers by not just holding his own but actually dominate two thirds of the rounds to earn an against the odds 77-76 points victory.

Whilst Colin was enjoying success in Liverpool Luke Campbell was a little further afield, in Debrecen, Hungary, hard at work against local favourite Krisztian Nagy in the final of the Bocskai Memorial Tournament .

Luke turned a 1-0 deficit at the end of the first round into a one point lead at the end of the second with four sumptuous scoring shots.

In the final round Luke gave a boxing masterclass, scoring four more points, to secure the win by a tidy 8-5 margin.

Colin and Luke join a veritable who’s who of British boxing as the man himself, Steve Bunce, explains. “It’s a packed hour! Frankie Gavin, Lenny Daws, Ashley Theophane, Tyson Fury, Robin Reid, John O’Donnell, Craig Watson, Mick Hennessy and a few more. It’s a busy week.

Colin and Luke had great wins and deserve a slot.

I will also reflect on Gary Mason’s funeral.”

Steve Bunce’s Boxing Hour goes out on BBC Radio London every Thursday between 8-9pm on BBC London 94.9, online live on BBC iPlayer.

Steve’s exciting thriller ‘The Fixer’ has recently been reprinted and is available now on-line at Amazon.com and all good bookshops, RRP. £9.99.
