Wladimir Klitschko: “My brother and I do not think about retirement”
World heavyweight champions: The Klitschko Brothers continue to dream of conquering all the major championship belts.
Wladimir Klitschko has promised that he will not surrender and will continue to negotiate with David Hay.
The Klitschko’s have made it clear that they will not retire as long as Haye holds the belt.
“My brother and I have always said that our goal is to win the four most prestigious belts in the heavyweight division and we will not deviate from these plans”.
“We will not think about leaving boxing as long as Hay has the champion’s belt, which we lack.
Yes, this year’s meeting seems unlikely, but I keep hoping that he would not retire”.
“What I have to say is, well David can not brag about all his life of “a great fight with Harrison” Such an early retirement from boxing will be a betrayal to all his fans “- said Wladimir Klitschko
David Haye’s hitlist for May
WLADIMIR Klitschko has told David Haye he is ready to fight on July 2.
But the South London Press understands the Hayemaker is set to turn to Ruslan Chagaev, Alexander Povetkin or Dennis Boytsov for a May defence of his WBA heavyweight title in London.
A source close to the South Londoner said he is likely to press ahead with putting his belt on the line against one of the trio above before looking for a unification fight with Klitschko’s older brother Vitali, who holds the WBC title, in September.
Tyson Fury trains with Wladimir Klitschko
Both Wladimir Klitschko and up-and-coming heavyweight contender Tyson Fury spent time with one another training under the guidance of Emanuel Steward recently in their training camp in Austria. Fury had a few words to say about the encounter as he gets ready for an encounter against a TBA opponent on February 19th.
“It was a pleasure and a great honour spending time in camp with Wladimir Klitschko, it’s given me a great deal of confidence training alongside such a champion, he is definitely a fighter who is at the top of his game.”
“Wlad and his brother, Vitali are both modern day heavyweights who are not only very talented and athletic but also big heavyweights.”
“There has been all sorts of speculation flying around why David Haye isn’t fighting one of the Klitschko brothers, but in my honest opinion I believe it’s because David isn’t big enough to deal with the likes of Wladimir or Vitali.”
“But I’m going to change all that in the future, not only am I talented, athletic, have the determination and toughness but also I’ve I got youth on my side, plus I’m also bigger than the likes of the Klitschko brothers as you can see by the photo.”
“When i realise my dream and become unified heavyweight champion of the world I will avoid no one, I’m sure I will be a dominant heavyweight champion just like Lennox Lewis, only I will be representing the UK and Ireland.”
“I’m really looking forward to my next fight which is at the prestigious Wembley Arena on Saturday 19th February, this is going to be a big year for me, I’m going to give boxing the shot in the arm it needs.”

Wladimir Klitschko: I Will Fight Haye July 2
Klitschko ready for July date with Haye
IBF and WBO world heavyweight champion, Ukrainian, Wladimir Klitschko told the BBC that his bout with WBA champion David Haye will take place on the 2nd of July this year, or will never happen. “I know that the British fans are expecting this fight, and would be happy to meet with Haye, – Either he accepts the offer, or leaves it. ” - said Vladimir
Frank Warren Says
By Frank Warren
DAVID HAYE has branded Wladimir Klitschko a coward after failing to agree terms with the WBO/IBF world champ.
According to Haye and his manager Adam Booth, Klitschko was asking too much to make the fight happen.
This week, I’ve had the same problems with George Groves.
His side made countless demands as I tried to make a fight between him and James DeGale.
I was prepared to meet most of them, but in the end it was a waste of time.
And who is Groves promoted by? None other than Booth.
The fight will now go out to purse bids. Although it’s a fight the fans and DeGale want, it’s obvious Groves isn’t interested in getting it on too soon.
I tried to make it happen last year, but Groves ran a mile then, too. I wonder if Haye is equally reluctant to fight Klitschko.
Booth told me on a number of occasions that DeGale-Groves was close to being done. But then he’d go on the missing list for days at a time.
He’d claim he’d been in meetings - he must be a busier man than a one-armed Bangkok taxi driver in the rush hour with nits.
If Groves is truly up for it, he should tell his team to pull their fingers out and sign a contract.
WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has just announced a fight with Odlanier Solis in March.
Unbeaten Solis is aiming to be the first Cuban to lift the world heavyweight title.
- GOOD news for Nathan Cleverly, the WBO have ordered negotiations between me and the promoters of Jurgen Braehmer. WBO light-heavy king Braehmer now has to fight Cleverly or be stripped.
- RICKY BURNS defends his WBO super-featherweight crown for the second time, meeting Joseph Laryea in March.
- Laryea beat Paul Appleby in Glasgow in December, it’s a good fight for the fans.
- THE London ex- boxers association are holding an exhibition at the Hackney Museum in London’s East End. Entrance is free, and it runs between January 25 and April 30.
Dereck Chisora
Heavyweight Dereck Chisora was celebrating after promoter Frank Warren confirmed he will fight world champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany on April 30. The British and Commonwealth champion was left devastated when Klitschko pulled out of their December 11 clash after tearing an abdominal muscle in training. But Chisora never gave up hope that he would earn a second chance against the IBF and WBO titlist. “I am very happy that we have found a new date for the fight so quickly. Chisora insulted me many times and that is why I still have unfinished business with him. He is a very good boxer but as a person he is a loser. Like I had done in December I will now teach him a lesson end of April”, says Wladimir Klitschko. - “This news is a fantastic late Christmas present,” said Chisora. “I always believed that I would fight Klitschko, and my faith has been repaid. I was a bit worried that he might try and fight an easier touch, but I think I’ve earned my opportunity.
Haye Brands Klitschko a Coward
WBA heavyweight champion David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye has branded rival titleholder Wladimir Klitschko a ‘coward’, following the Ukrainian’s decision not to unify the belts in a 2011 showdown. A bout between IBF and WBO kingpin Klitschko and Haye appeared close to completion earlier this week, but Wladimir instead decided on an April 30 title defence against Britain’s Dereck Chisora on Wednesday.
“We agreed to a date of July 2nd at a venue in Germany with both Sky Sports and RTL and everybody appeared happy with the deal,” said a bemused Haye. “We made a few concessions to remove past stumbling blocks and were happy to do so, as it finally looked like the fight would get made.
“Even through negotiations, though, it was clear Wladimir was looking for the coward’s way out. He would often come up with new obstacles and problems to overcome, and I never once sensed he fancied it.
“He refused to come to England, wanted to pick his own gloves, enter the ring second, box out of the red corner and demanded a German doctor. He also wanted his name to feature first on any promotional material ahead of the event. We bowed to each and every one of his demands. I didn’t want to potentially jeopardise anything this time around.”
With everything in place for a Haye bout, Klitschko nevertheless settled for Chisora. Still adamant the unification clash will happen, Klitschko informed Haye that he plans to deal with both Brits in 2011.
“It should never have come to this,” said Haye, 25-1 (23 KO). “I was available to fight in May and June, yet Klitschko only gave me dates of April 30 and July 2. The April date would be too close to Amir Khan’s next fight, and prove problematic with Sky Box Office, so we settled for July.
“Klitschko claims he’ll fight both me and Chisora, but it’s nonsense. Are we expected to believe that a fighter who competed only once in the whole of 2009 and twice in 2010 is now going to box twice in a matter of nine weeks? A bout with me is the most lucrative, meaningful and dangerous fight Wladimir’s ever had, not some throwaway tune-up. Wladimir won’t fight anybody nine weeks after Chisora, let alone me.
“I now need to look for a fight of my own beyond April, as Amir Khan has that month tied up with his bout. Presumably Wladimir is expecting me to fight in either May or June and then face him in early July. It’s ridiculous.”
This latest twist in the Haye-Klitschko saga has angered the Brit more than any other and, as he now seeks out a title challenger of his own, the WBA champion is resigned to missing out on the fight he says he desperately wants.
“They demanded 50:50 right from the start and we eventually agreed and gave them all they wanted, despite the fact that our side brought three times as much money to the overall pot,” recalled Haye.
“We had venues available for May and June, but Wladimir had no intention of ever coming to England. Unfortunately, he claimed he had no venues available in Germany for May and June and that’s why we find ourselves in the situation we’re in right now.”
Haye added: “If the fight doesn’t happen now, it never will. I’m done with the Klitschkos. I know I can retire later this year with my head held high, knowing I did everything in my power to make these fights happen. I’ve had defining fights and beaten the best in the world as a cruiserweight, but, without me, Wladimir can never say he’s done the same as a heavyweight.”

- Vitali says Wladimir is ready to face David Haye — WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is saying that his younger brother IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is ready to go after World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye next, according to both Sportinglife.co.uk, and Golzka paper.
- David Haye — In an Interview with the ‘Guardian’ Adam Booth, manager and trainer of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, is claiming that his fighter actually budged to the financial demands of WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko. However Booth claims that Klitschko is refusing to sign the agreement. Booth told the Guardian: “I have been negotiating with Bernd Boente, Wladimir Klitschko’s manager, and two days ago I offered him a 50-50 split of everything, including the British pay-per-view money. And that the fight could be on RTL [the German TV station] and could be held anywhere they wanted to make the most revenue, including in Germany.
