Pavlik offered choice spot on Pacquiao-Mosley undercard on May 7th
According to Boxingnews24, Former WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32 KO’s) has been offered a choice spot on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley May 7th pay-per-view card at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada by his promoter Bob Arum.
Former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, who has spent the last two months at the Betty Ford Center for treatment for alcohol abuse, is due to leave the facility today Tuesday according to manager Cameron Dunkin.
Pavlik entered the Rancho Mirage, Calif., center on November, 4, Dunkin said. It is Pavlik's second stint there.
Pavlik lost the title on a decision to Sergio Martinez last April and was scheduled to make his comeback November, 13 on the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito undercard at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. However, Pavlik withdrew a couple of weeks before the scheduled bout against Brian Vera.
Kelly will most likely face a 2nd tier opponent like the one he was supposed to fight last time Pacquiao fought. It is unlikely that Arum will put Pavlik in with anyone too good considering he has just got out of rehab.
