Roach made it clear that his recent announcement that if Khan defeats Timothy Bradley he could face Manny Pacquiao was a joke. "I've said it in a joking manner, and everyone laughed - said Roach. - Everybody realized it was a joke.
Both fighters had previously stated that they would not face each other in the ring and not just because they are good friends but also because Roach would in this case, have to choose one of them.
However when Roach was asked to re confirm that if a Pacquaio – Khan ever came about he would not chose to work Khan’s corner over that of the Filipino congressman – he confirmed.
About his future plans for Khan Roach said: “Well, obviously, I want to see him clean up the 140-pound division. So, you know, the next guy out there is Tim Bradley. So, I hope that he's next.”
