Victor Ortiz Says: I will destroy Mayweather
WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz has no doubt in his mind that he is going to win by knockout. "The simple truth is that a difficult battle awaits Mayweather, not me - he said. - I'm going to destroy him. Slowly, round by round, before the knockout. "
"Mayweather – is not a fighter that got my respect when I was a kid - continued Ortiz. - He was never one of my favorite boxers. I think Mayweather already has a few injuries, but they are not recorded in his record.”
Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO’s) notwithstanding his many problems still remains one of the biggest name in the sports of boxing. The 34 year-old American boxer has proven his power to attract large viewers and generate pay-per-views sales each time he step on the ring. He has an impressive wins over world champions such as Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, Oscar de la Hoya and Ricky Hatton.
Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) dethroned former WBC Welterweight champion Andre Berto via unanimous decision. He is a hard-punching southpaw who is considered as one of the most powerful young boxers of this era and will be tested to the limit when he faces world renowned, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The highly decorated and undefeated six-time world champion in five weight classes and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Floyd Mayweather Jr., announced early last June his return via twitter and that would be facing the young, southpaw Vicious Ortiz, who possess a great challenge and a threat to his career. Ortiz’s WBC Welterweight belt is at stake of this upcoming bout.
Floyd Mayweather see's Victor Ortiz as an open invitation for his trademark punch, the straight right hand.
Victor Ortiz has got very good power for the weight, and he's also got very good boxing skills. So he is not to be written off in this fight, many are giving him a real chance against Mayweather.
Ortiz feels will not give up his WBC title easy and we should be seeing a super motivated Ortiz for this fight, a possessed, unstoppable fighting machine as we witnessed against Andre Berto. Ortiz has something prove in this fight.
Floyd has been talking about a superfight with Manny Pacquiao after this fight, talk that Victor Ortiz see's as disrespectful, (as if Floyd's already beat Ortiz). Floyd Mayweather is the favorite to win this fight, BUT Ortiz cannot be ruled out, after-all most people never thought Ortiz would beat Berto and he did.
Victor Ortiz could shock the world and become the first man to actually knock Floyd Mayweather out
