Friday night at the Circus Arena in Berlin, Germany, 38-year-old New Zealander, Daniella Smith (10-1, 0 KOs) won the first IBF female championship against Jennifer Retzke in a unanimous 10-round decision victory. On her way to becoming the first IBF Female Welterweight Champion, Smith won by scores of 99-90, 96-94, and 96-93 on the judges’ cards while knocking down Retzke in the ninth. This was the first loss for Jennifer Retzke, who drops to 10-1, 7 KOs.
