women's boxing gaining in popularity, anticipation for its event at the London 2012 Olympics is growing ever stronger. When the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) went public with their plan to use the 100 acre ExCel London space as a venue for Olympic events, boxer Lesley Sackey went by to take a look.

"London 2012 is the perfect opportunity to showcase what female boxing is about," said Sackey, "and it means the world that I can do it on my home turf and have that support here in London."

The exhibition space, which is located near London City Airport, will host seven events including showcase boxing events.

"The fact that women's boxing has been included as an event at London 2012 Games has given me an incredible boost and really helps me believe I can now go all the way," Sackey said. "It's opened the door for amateur boxers - it's absolutely massive."
