Amateur boxer Gordon Izzat, has died tragically at the age of 27.

Izatt, a former Scottish Eastern District Featherweight champion, He was found dead on Sunday 4^th July at his home in the Wester Hailes district of Edinburgh and is believed to have taken his own life.

The former Eastern District featherweight champion failed to capture his dream of going pro, and was due to fight his last bout at a Clovenstone Boxing Club showpiece in September before pursuing a career in security.

He leaves behind his four year old son Aiden and his partner Rachel.
