Ireland European Schoolboy Championships
BERNARD O'NEILL - Ireland's talented young boxers are ready to roll at the European Schoolboy Championships in Bulgaria according to Irish team manager Patrick Gallagher.
The 15-strong squad will leave for Bulgaria on Monday morning ahead of the Championships which begin Tuesday in Yambol.
"Boxers from throughout the country, who were of a required standard, were invited to squad sessions in the High Performance Gym over three weekend's in order to select a team for the European Schoolboys, said Gallagher.
"Those who made the squad were then invited back on Tuesday, July 13th for more intense training under the guidance of team coach Billy McClean.
"They will remain, as a team, in the High Performance Gym until their departure for Bulgaria on Monday morning next. These Championships will run over the duration of that week and the team will return to Ireland on Monday evening, July 26th."
