Hatton Health And Fitness Gain Accolade

HATTON Health and Fitness have been presented with a Business Training Award by Trafford College.
Head of the Hatton Group, Ricky Hatton received a certificate in recognition of links between the highly rated college and his private members gym in Hyde on the outskirts of Manchester.
College principal Sir Bill Moorcroft and Sally Waterfield who trains many of Hatton Health and Fitness Apprentices paid a visit to the Hatton HQ in Hyde on Wednesday 1st February.
Eleven staff members at Hatton Health and Fitness are Trafford College Apprentices studying towards qualifications in personal training and customer services.
Two weight-world champ Ricky says a good relationship in the gym’s relaxing environment between staff and loyal Hatton Health and Fitness members is something he encourages.
He said: “Our strong belief is that people come to gyms to interact with the staff and fellow members not to enter a cold place where you pay a lot and get little customer care.
“Our Apprentices are living proof that our belief in customer care and interaction with members is absolutely the right path to continue to follow.
“The staff we have are fantastic with members and a lot of that is what they have been taught by the college. I am delighted to that we have received recognition.”
Tutors like Sally have been visiting the gym for more than two years and played a major part in the development of the young and enthusiastic staff employed at Hatton Health and Fitness.
Hatton added: “Trafford College tutors have provided us with great support and given our staff that extra motivation – which is reflected in our membership retention.”
Team Crolla Want Burns Showdown

RICKY HATTON is willing to sit down with rival promoter Frank Warren to try and make a Battle of Britain between Ricky Burns and Anthony Crolla.
The former two-weight world champion promotes fast rising British 135lb title holder Crolla, and believes he’ll become a world force next year.
Hatton wants the Mancunian to face Warren’s WBO interim champion Burns next.
Hatton said: “The main forces in the domestic lightweight scene are Ricky Burns and Anthony.
“Promoters should try and work together in order to give the British boxing fans the fights I’m sure they would love to see.
“Although I and Frank have had our differences in the past, the respect I have for him has neither been in question.
“I would sit down with Frank in order for British fans to see the best fights.”
Burns was ringside to watch Crolla retain his title with a points thrashing of Willie Limond two weeks ago, and the England v Scotland showdown between the pair has been mooted since then.
Hatton predicted: “In 2012 I believe that Anthony will beat all-comers and prove himself as Britain’s number one lightweight.
“He is growing into the weight, maturing and the performance against Limond was one of the most dominant by a British champion this year.”

Hatton Nervous Ahead Of ‘Debut’

RICKY HATTON admits he will be nervous before his ring return next week.
The two-weight world champion starts his new career as a trainer at Oldham Leisure Centre on Saturday November 12.
‘Hitman’ Hatton will be giving the instructions instead of throwing the punches when Blackpool’s Adam Little boxes a four round welterweight contest against a selected opponent.
Hatton said: “I will be nervous and anxious when Adam has his first contest with me in his corner because all eyes will be on me.
“Just because I have been a good boxer doesn’t mean I am going to be a good coach. Some of the best trainers in the world weren’t great boxers.
“Just like I was when I was a fighter I will love the challenge.
“I am confident in my own ability and have a lot to offer my fighter. I will be throwing every punch with Adam because he has put his faith in me.
“I don’t want to be in the corner of any fighters where they think I am there for a pay cheque.”
Denton Vassell tops the Oldham bill that is being televised live by Sky Sports when he makes the second defence of his Commonwealth welterweight crown against Cameroon born Australian Samuel Colomban.
Other fights: Matty Askin v Roman Kracic, Kieran Farrell v Youssef Al Hamidi, Jazza Dickens v Badis Ouari, Dezzie Higginson v Sid Razak, and Kieran Maher v TBA

Murray Backed By The Army For His German War

MARTIN MURRAY will have the Army fighting his corner when he challenges WBA super world middleweight champion Felix Sturm in December.
The British, Commonwealth and WBA inter-continental champion meets the German idol in Mannheim on Friday December 2.
And when Martin makes his ring walk at the SAP Arena he will be accompanied by drummers from The Duke of Lancaster regiment.
Murray accepted an invitation to visit their Preston barracks from Captain Phil Sweeney, ahead of his big clash against Sturm.
The St Helens fighter, 29, was accompanied by three-year-old son, Archie and fellow Hatton Promotions fighters Scott Quigg and Adam Little.
Martin’s friend Andy Reid was injured in battle losing both legs and the unbeaten boxer is helping to raise funds for the Army Benevolent Fund.
He said: “The ABF doesn’t get the attention that Help for Heroes gets so I am trying to help bring awareness and the drummers being part of my ring walk will play a part.
“The day we spent with the regiment was a real eye opener. I did some of the tests and there were mentally tiring.
“I might be fighting for a world title, but those guys are in the biggest fight of all.
“When I challenge Sturm I am trying to make my life better. The Army boys are making our lives better.
“It was hoped that Andy would get to my fight, but he has a date with the Queen that day in his role as an ambassador for the ABF.”
Murray who has won all 23 professional fights planned to have an army career but failed the medicals because of eczema on his legs.
He added: “My army career lasted about two hours, but hopefully now I can do my bit to help a very good cause.”
Martin, Quigg and Ricky Hatton will return to Weeton Barracks on November 11 to hand out prizes at an Inter Battalion novices boxing competition where fighters trained by his close friend Corporal Wally Lee are in action.
