Russian Geneticists Declare Valuev a Mutant
On assurances of geneticists Russian boxer champion Nikolai Valuev – has a genetic anomaly according to the website lifesports.ru
Russian media and on line Russian news sites have declared that - Researchers have concluded that Valuev is a mutant.
The first changes in the genome of the boxer caused a big increase in the athlete. In addition, the change may have occurred in both bone tissue and muscle.
“We did a genetic passport study of Valuev. We studied 26 of his genes. With regard to gene growth, certainly there are deviations. This can be seen, so to speak, even to the naked eye says one of the leading geneticists of Russia Oleg Glotov.
“His whole constitution of the body is due to changes in the genetic code. Although this has had no effect on his health, on the contrary, it helped him to achieve high results in sports,” – noted the scientist.
At this time, genetic changes and anomalies are not covered by any anti-doping commission of the world. In addition, the boxing federation also does not make allowances for this.
Thus, Nikolai Valuev quite smoothly and successfully performed even in the heavyweight boxing division.
In turn, World Anti-Doping Agency is concerned about the situation surrounding the so-called gene doping. These include special medications, which in some way alter the composition of the human genome. To identify such interference is absolutely impossible. At the same time, the advantage gained by an athlete can be quite noticeable. Thus, we can expect that in the near future athletes with obvious variations in the genetics will not be allowed to any competition.
