Klitschko, his hands down, was waiting for more action from the challenger but the German chose to move around rather than actually fight with the champion. Klitschko landed a couple of jabs to start inflicting damage to the challenger. All in all the first round was all Vitali’s but he landed almost no power punches. In the second. Vitali landed a hard right hand to the spleen to start the stanza. Charr tried to unleash a series of punches but none of them landed clean except for a left hand, which the Ukrainian took well. Early into the fourth, the WBC champion landed a crisp jab, and blood started raining down from the Charr’s right eye. He tried his best and sensing the fight was just moments away from being stopped – he charged after the giant Ukrainian and even landed some punches. Then Italian referee Guido Cavalleri called a halt to the action and took Charr to the ringside physician, who stopped the bout. Abraham-Stieglitz Fight On BoxNation

Buglioni will be a studio guest for Abraham-Stieglitz fight on BoxNation on Saturday

alt

Red-hot super-middleweight prospect Frank Buglioni will be a studio guest for this Saturday night’s big world title fight on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546) live from Germany between Robert Stieglitz and Arthur Abraham.

The unbeaten Londoner is making big waves on the domestic scene with his exciting all-action style, massive fan following and mediterranean good looks as he builds towards a potential first title fight later this year.

The 23-year-old has his sixth pro fight – a six-round contest – on Friday 14th September at the York Hall, Bethnal Green, on the undercard of stable-mate Billy Joe Saunders’ Commonwealth Middleweight title defence against Australian Jarrod Fletcher, which is also live on BoxNation.

Buglioni joins BoxNation presenter Steve Bunce in the London studio for live coverage of Stieglitz’s World Boxing Organization (WBO) World Super-Middleweight title defence against Abraham at the O2 World in Berlin.

And Buglioni is looking forward to seeing all the action.

“It’s a cracking fight for BoxNation, both are come forward fighters and I expect a great fight between them. Of the two, Abraham is the heavier handed and has been in harder fights and Stieglitz has more movement and is in the prime of his career. It’s a tough one to call, but I’m looking forward to a very interesting fight between them,” Said Buglioni.

He added, “At the moment I’m only five fights into my professional career and I’m enjoying the learning experience of it all as I work towards challenging for domestic titles. Stieglitz and Abraham are at the top of their game and I want to be in their position in a good few years which will be a long hard road, but I’m loving every minute of it.”

Stieglitz v Abraham is live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/Virgin Ch. 546) this Saturday with live coverage starting from 7.30pm. Join at www.boxnation.com

Buglioni features on an action packed card at the York Hall, Bethnal Green, headlined by Billy Joe Saunders’ Commonwealth Middleweight title defence against Jarrod Fletcher, plus Bradley Skeete v Peter McDonagh in a ten-round welterweight contest and unbeaten prospects Billy Morgan, Gary Corcoran, Mitchell Smith and Ediz Hussein.

After Go controlled the eighth round, Juarez came on in the ninth round, pressing the action and attempting to land to the body. Both fighters dug deep in the final round. Saturday 14 July 2012 – Palms Casino and Resort, Pearl Theater, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Light heavyweight – Dmitry Sukhotsky lost to Cornelius White on UD 12 / 12 – Vacant IBF International light heavyweight title

Middleweight – Anthony Mundine beat Bronco McKart by TKO 7 / 10 – Time: 2:04 – Vacant IBF North American middleweight title

Australia’s Anthony Mundine (44-4, 26KO) impressed in his American debut tonight, taking seven rounds to knock out the tough but overmatched Bronco McKart (54-10-1, 32KO). Mundine came to the ring escorted by Native American dancers and his father, former middleweight contender Tony Mundine. With very little time for feeling out, McKart began applying pressure in the first round, while Mundine landed lead right hands on the Michigan southpaw. – The pattern continued in the second, and in the third Mundine put McKart against the ropes for periods, firing combinations. The fighters began to exchange in the fourth and “The Man” got the better of it, ripping combinations to the head and body of his veteran opponent. In the fifth and sixth Mundine alternated between throwing stinging combinations and wasting time, even clowning. The Australian caught McKart behind the ear with a clubbing left hook to start the seventh, sending him to the canvas. With plenty of time to go in the round, Mundine jumped on his wounded rival, knocking him down again with a roundhouse right against the ropes.  – The official stoppage came shortly after, at 2.04 of round seven, with McKart’s corner throwing in the towel in response to a series of Mundine uppercuts. Saturday 14 July 2012 – Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Light welterweight – Amir Khan lost to Danny Garcia by TKO  4 / 12 – Time: 2:28 – WBC light welterweight title (supervisor: Alberto Guerra) – WBA Super World light welterweight title (supervisor: Aurelio Fiengo)

Super middleweight – Fernando Guerrero beat Jose Medina on UD 10 / 10

By Boxing Clever – Amir Khan admits he only has himself to blame after suffering a crushing fourth-round stoppage defeat to massive underdog Danny Garcia in Las Vegas. – Khan was floored three times as American Garcia exploited the Englishman’s naive tactics to keep his WBC light-welterweight title and snatch his opponent’s WBA belt. – Khan was taken to hospital for precautionary scans after the devastating loss, which was his second in succession after Lamont Peterson’s tainted win over him last December.

“It wasn’t my night,” admitted the Bolton fighter.

“After watching the replays a little bit I thought I was coming in with my hands down and Danny took advantage.

“I respect Danny, he was countering very well against me.”

“We got a little complacent and he took advantage and he caught me,” he said of Garcia’s decisive left hook that sent him down for the first time. – “I was a little surprised the referee stopped it. I thought he was going to let us continue. My mind was clear and I thought my legs were okay but I respect the referee, the judges and the commission, maybe they made the right call.”

Khan, now 26-3 with 18 early wins and two stoppage defeats, hinted he may have taken Garcia lightly. – His tactics backed that up as he tore at his opponent from the opening bell before becoming embroiled in a war which he lost spectacularly. – Khan, who had perhaps naively talked about fighting Floyd Mayweather in the near future, had the WBA belt he lost to Peterson returned to him this week but lost it again to Garcia at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. • Facts About This Fight
    • Both boxers are licensed to fight via the Luxembourg Boxing Federation (LBF)
    • The LBF is recognised by the British Boxing Board of Control and is a member of the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and EBU.
    • The LBF has the absolute right under law to engage in the common practice of licensing bouts in other European territories outside its own national borders. This is by no means a precedent and has happened many times before.
    • Frank Warren, Dereck Chisora’s manager, has 32 years’ experience in the industry and holds a licence with the BBBofC. Acting in the best interests of his client, he has ensured that the rules of the organisation have been completely adhered to.
    • After the regrettable incident in Munich the BBBofC withdrew Dereck Chisora’s British licence. Dereck was never banned from boxing and the BBBofC was categorical in stating that Dereck Chisora was free to apply for a licence with any federation of his choosing.
    • David Haye has come out of retirement to fight. He has never been banned or suspended from boxing at any time.
    • There are numerous examples of fights taking place after unsavoury incidents between fighters. Legendary boxers such as Ali, Lewis, Tyson and Holmes, to name a few, have all been involved in incidents outside the ring they probably now regret.
    • As with Haye and Chisora on the 14th July, these legends did what boxers do. They got in the ring and settled their differences.
